Free Visitor Courses
In partnership with Mow-Sure, we’re offering free training courses for guests of the Sports and Grounds Expo 2021.
The taster sessions will be carried out by Mow-Sure’s Ian Sumpter, who has become well-renowned in the industry having been involved in turf care since the early 1980s, working in a variety of roles from Amenity Horticulture, sports turf management through to training.
The sessions will take place on each day of the event and will last for approximately 1.5 hours each.
Learn how to achieve the best quality of cut from a cylinder mower. Covering safe practice and the best ways to set up units to reduce negative impacts on after cut appearance and the environment.
This course is tailor-made for people responsible for operating/maintaining turf care equipment. Guests will: gain knowledge in setting machinery to achieve optimum quality of cut; understand troubleshooting process to identify quality of cut issues; identify key machinery set up options to rectify quality of cut issues; as well as identify key machinery setup options to rectify quality of cut issues.
Follow a process to carry out standard annual servicing of a sprayer in keeping with current legislation. Course covers troubleshooting sprayer issues and tips to prevent/correct faults.
This course will get you cover NSTS standards to get you up to date with current legislation surrounding NSTS in the amenity sector. The course is tailor-made for people responsible for the application of pesticides and associated equipment and will add to your existing knowledge of how to troubleshoot pesticide application machine issues. In addition, you will gain knowledge in preventative maintenance of sprayers and fixing issues with machines.
Follow a process to carry out standard preventative maintenance. Course covers prestart checks, maintenance and troubleshooting tips to prevent/correct faults.
This course is tailor-made for people responsible for operating/maintaining turf care equipment. It will provide you with knowledge on how turf care machinery functions, as well as how to identify potential faults within a turf care machinery system and how to repair them.
